Silcocks Family History.
My own interest in Silcock's family history first started in 1964 when Herbie Silcock, my granddad gave me six old photos of the fairground of times gone by, some of the photos was of fairground rides and shows the like that I've never seen before, this started my interest in my Silcock family history.

Some Showmen would chat on the grounds sometimes reminiscing about the past these stories was of particular interest to me but sometimes I never had a pencil and paper to write them down at the time, when I later returned to our living wagon most of the time I forgot to write them down and the stories was forgotten about.

I asked myself the question who started Silcock's Fairs of and in what year, the names of these family members, and where did they originate from, Warrington?

Most of the Silcock's family members are now accounted for, there are still a couple of them that need a bit more effort in tracing them.

Now that I have a bit more time on my hands and with the help of my wife Anne who has made my task much more enjoyable we are now collecting and archiving information from the turn of the century to present day about Silcock's when they acquired and disposed of rides, lorries, living wagons and fair grounds, etc.
maybe you or a family member can help us, a little bit of information that you may have,
no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is, an old receipt, or maybe even a photo.

If we can help you with your research or question about your or Silcock's family tree or history then please do contact us.

More Silcock's history to be added later.                    dated 17 Jan 2010

Thank you.     Edward Silcock Snr.
